The Safety Benefits of a Hydraulic Hose Protector

Hydraulic hoses are used for a number of different applications but what all of these applications have in common are that these hoses are used in transporting material that would be damaging or harmful if not sent through these hoses. That is why using a hydraulic hose protector is so important on the worksite, not only for the protection of these materials but also employees and the environment.

Hydraulic hoses are used to transport materials that cannot be distributed by hand. Things like petroleum oil, synthetic oil, any liquid with high water content. Hoses are also used for high temperature liquids or those liquids being transported with high or low pressure readings. Hoses help to ensure that the materials will be moved to the right places without injuring employees or causing damage to the worksite.

You can find hydraulic hoses on a number of different worksites. Oil refineries use hoses to remove the sludge from the bottom of oil tanks or to replace or remove old oil. Factories use hoses when the product they are making uses water or another kind of liquid material. Mining companies use hoses to transport water to workers and to transfer materials. Gas companies use hoses to replace oil into tanks so that consumers can begin purchasing. Airports use hydraulic hose systems to bring fuel into the plane and remove waste. Construction companies use them to replace plumbing systems or to fix leaks. So as you can see, the uses for hydraulic hoses in the industrial field are endless. In our opinion, what there needs to be more of is hydraulic hose protection for these crucial elements of the jobsites.

If you are using hydraulic hoses and not outfitting them with protective devices, it could be a matter of time before you have a dangerous mess on your hands. Without proper protection, hoses can become damaged or broken thus leading to spills and environmental damage as well as the possibility of human injury as well. Industrial vehicles, human error, equipment malfunction, all of these could be the possible cause for a damaged hydraulic hose. However, it is easy to protect these hoses when you outfit them with a hydraulic hose protector from Brahman Systems. Over 57% of “premature hose failures result from abrasion caused by improper routing” which explains the importance of “carefully placed clamps...and protective sleeves.”

Furthermore, it isn’t just the use of hose protectors, it is the materials that make up the hose protector that matter. Some companies use plastic, rubber, or aluminum, only Brahman Systems use steel reinforced hose protectors. In fact, our design is so effective and revolutionary, that is has been patented. Not only are they the strongest hose protectors on the market, they are easy to install. Using a forklift, simply place the protectors where the hoses are, lock them into place and that is it! Easy as 1-2-3 and built Brahman tough so you can trust that you are getting quality protection.

I don't know very much about hydraulic equipment in general and my curiosity got the best of me. So, I am very thankful for your explanations and elaborations. I did not know that hydraulic hoses are used to transport materials.

I had no idea what a hydraulic hose was or what they did! I find it super interesting that they distribute things like petroleum oil, synthetic oil and more. That's really cool. Thanks for all the cool information!

I had no idea that hydraulic hoses could be so dangerous. If I was an employer, I would definitely want my employees to use a hose protector to minimize the risk of an accident. If 57% of hydraulic hose failures are from improper routing like you said, then I'd definitely want one of these. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for helping me learn more about hydraulic hose protectors. It's so cool to learn that they can be used in a lot of different worksites, like refineries, mining, and gas companies. I'm interested to visually see these in these different environments, especially to see how they are installed differently depending on the function of the system.

I didn't know that a hydraulic hose is used to transport stuff that you can't move by hand. This would be handy if you have long distances to move things. That would also be helpful if you are understaffed.

You did a great job of explaining hydraulic hose and its usage. I never know that it is how you called a hose that transport liquid materials other than water. At least now, you have made me realize that it's not an ordinary kind of equipment, thanks a lot!

That's interesting that hydraulic hoses are used to get rid of sludge at the bottom of the oil tanks. It'd probably be important to make sure that your hose is big enough or small enough to do the job properly without the chance of it getting stuck or getting a clog. You'd just need to find somewhere to get hydraulic equipment like that.
